Ludo van Well is a wellknown naval architect (www.vanwelldesign.nl). He created particular for GalleryMaritime 'Sculptures of the Sea'. Let's introduce you to the artist Ludo van Well.
His dream, as a young man, was to develop the ultimate sailing boat and he has followed that dream to this day. His work in art shows his desire for boats and water images. His creations are metaphors of ships and boats that (n)ever were or shall be built. Fragments of maritime objects are born again. Using unusual combinations of hard & soft materials like wood with stone, pewter with stainless steel, bronze or wood with resin, Ludo van Well creates silent explanations of what goes on in and under the water.
